Abstract:
This data set contains Composite Block Diagram (CBD) images in Adobe pdf format for areas within the BOEM Alaska Region. Each CBD describes a single block within an Official Protraction Diagram (OPD) and shows the lines (Submerged Lands Act, Limit of "8(g) Zone", maritime boundaries and/or marine sanctuaries), NAD 27 leases, and NAD 27 boundaries which occur within that block and divide it into different areas. The CBD contains additional coordinates and area calculations for an individual block. These data are scanned images of the official paper CBDs produced by the BOEM.
Purpose:
The purpose of a CBD, as compared to an Supplemental Official OCS Block Diagram (SOBD), is to portray ambulatory boundary changes through time, or to indicate how irregular portions resulting from NAD 27 leaseholds adjoining unleased areas on the NAD 83 cadastre are to be combined to form bidding units. CBDs and other cadastre information the BOEM produces is generated in accordance with 30 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 256.8 to support Federal land ownership and mineral resource management.
Supplemental_Information:
The BOEM is making its existing cadastre data available at http://www.boem.gov/Oil-and-Gas-Energy-Program/Mapping-and-Data/Index.aspx. These data will include digital images of BOEM data at the regional, planning area, Official Protraction Diagram (OPD), and Supplemental Official OCS Block Diagram (SOBD) levels and digital spatial data in ARCGIS shapefile.
