Tracey Moriarty is the Chief of the Office of Communications (OOC) for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. She has been with BOEM for more than 10 years and leads a highly skilled team of communication professionals located in the Washington, D.C., area, as well as the Gulf of Mexico, Pacific and Alaska Regions. The OOC Team oversees Congressional affairs, media relations, stakeholder engagement, digital media, and internal communications.
Tracey previously served as OOC's Deputy and Media Relations Manager for OOC from 2017 - 2022. She began her career with BOEM in 2012 as the public affairs lead for the Office of Renewable Energy Programs (OREP). Prior to BOEM, Tracey served as the Director for Strategic Communication and Outreach for the Chief of Naval Operations’ Environmental Readiness Division (U.S. Navy) from 2007 - 2012, and before that as an environmental consultant for more than 10 years. Tracey earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Roanoke College and a master’s degree in environmental policy-marine affairs from the University of Virginia.
