ABOUT THE ENI 2017 BEAUFORT SEA EXPLORATION PLAN
Eni US is a subsidiary of Italian multinational oil and gas company Eni S.p.A. In its plan, Eni proposes to drill into the federal submerged lands of the Beaufort Sea from their Spy Island Drillsite, a pre-existing facility located on an artificial gravel island in Alaska state waters.

BOEM approves a revision to Eni's Beaufort Sea exploration plan (EP). This revision modifies the Beaufort Sea EP (approved by BOEM on July 12, 2017). It authorizes Eni to continue well operations during Summer 2018, while drilling above the hydrocarbon zone in well NN01, and to enter hydrocarbon bearing formations only from July 15 to Sept. 15, 2018. It also reduces the number of wells to two mainbores and one sidetrack. |

Eni submits to BOEM a corrected page L-2 of their Exploration Plan. This correction updates table L-1, revising the number of 2018 estimated barge trips from 32 to 108. |

BOEM deems submitted an exploration plan it received from Eni US Operating Co., Inc. BOEM now has 30 calendar days to evaluate the EP in accordance with federal law and regulations. This evaluation will include a site-specific Environmental Assessment (EA) of the proposed exploration activities pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act. By the end of the 30-day period BOEM may approve the EP, require modifications to the EP, or disapprove the EP.
