Continental Offshore Stratigraphic Test (COST) and Industry Exploration Drilling
Continental Offshore Stratigraphic Test (COST) wells were drilled to provide geologic information on the Alaska OCS. The following reports summarize engineering, geological, and wire line data and information from these wells.
- MMS 83-0124 – Norton Sound COST NO. 1 Well, Norton Sound, Alaska
- MMS 83-0557 – Norton Sound COST NO. 2 Well, Norton Sound, Alaska
- MMS 84-0016 – St. George Basin COST NO.1 Well, Bering Sea, Alaska
- MMS 84-0018 - St. George Basin COST NO.2 Well, Bering Sea, Alaska
- MMS 84-0031 – Navarin Basin COST NO.1 Well, Bering Sea, Alaska
- MMS 87-0109 – Kodiak Shelf Stratigraphic Test Wells, Western Gulf of Alaska
- MMS 88-0089 – North Aleutian Shelf COST NO. 1 Well, Bering Sea, Alaska
- MMS 91-0076 – Correlation Study of Selected Exploration Wells from the North Slope and Beaufort Sea
Release of Non-proprietary Seismic Data
The first data to be released for the Alaska OCS was in the year 2001. During that year, approximately 37,750 miles of seismic surveys in the Alaska OCS were made public. The total inventory of seismic data in Alaskan waters that will eventually be released totals nearly ½ million miles.
