Background
Tomorrow, March 20, 2019, BOEM will conduct a lease sale offering more than 78 million acres in Federal waters offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida for oil and gas exploration and development. Lease Sale 252, which offers all unleased and non-protected areas in the Gulf of Mexico, will be livestreamed to the public via www.boem.gov. The bid reading begins at 9:00 AM Central Time.
News media representatives are invited to view the sale via the livestream and participate in a news media teleconference following the bid reading. Officials will announce the results of the sale and answer questions.
