BOEM-National Academies To Focus On Technology And Future Of Ocean Science At Nov. 13-14 Meeting

WASHINGTON, DC - The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS) will hold the ninth meeting of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Standing Committee on Offshore Science and Assessment on Nov. 13-14 at the National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Ave., N.W. Washington, D.C., 20418. The meeting is open to media and the public, although seating is limited. The Academies require advance registration to attend in person. The advance registration, agenda, and live webcast link for both days will be posted to the NAS website.

Participants will focus on the use of technology in BOEM ocean science, including current and new innovative technologies that might be deployed in the future.

The Nov. 13 public session will take place from 9:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. EDT; the Nov. 14 public session is scheduled from 10:00 a.m-4:00 p.m. Comments or questions emailed from the media and public to osbfeedback@nas.edu will be accepted both days if time allows.

Videos and slides from previous meetings are available on the NAS website. The committee encompasses a broad range of expertise in both natural and social sciences, relevant disciplines within those broad areas, and collective expertise from academia, industry, government, and the non-profit world in all four Outer Continental Shelf regions.
