This weekend, scientists from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will be at the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum for an educational event celebrating Arctic peoples, cultures, and science in Washington, DC. BOEM employees who have lived and worked in Alaska will be there with some great "whale tales."
Events are as follows:
Friday, May 8, from 2-5 p.m., Sant Ocean Hall, "The Scientist is In." Find out what it's like to do research in the Arctic, with Michael Rasser, BOEM Ecologist, and Guillermo Auad, Senior BOEM Oceanographer.
Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m, The Family Event at Sant Ocean Hall will feature displays from BOEM and other U.S. research agencies working in the Arctic, with BOEM Arctic Specialist Tim Holder, Marine Biologist Mary Cody and Public Affairs Officer John Callahan.
