This email serves as a friendly reminder that BOEM is looking for your feedback.
Since BOEM promulgated its renewable energy regulations in 2009, the agency has made substantial progress in moving forward with planning and leasing for renewable energy development on the Outer Continental Shelf.
For example, BOEM has (1) established thirteen Intergovernmental Task Forces with our federal, state, local, and tribal partners, (2) issued nine commercial wind energy leases, and (3) generated more than $14.5 million in winning bids from its offshore wind lease sales.
With BOEM's renewable energy program having moved beyond its early stages, now is a good time to assess our existing processes, and BOEM believes stakeholder feedback to be crucial to this effort.
To that end, BOEM would like to invite you to comment on our renewable energy program. Specifically, we would like to know which aspects of the program that you have found to be successful, and where there may be opportunities for improvement. Please submit comments electronically or postmarked no later than Dec. 29, 2015. Comments should be submitted in one of the two following ways:
