On Nov. 16 and 17, 2023, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine will host the 24th Committee on Offshore Science and Assessment (COSA) meeting to provide updates on BOEM’s scientific studies and environmental assessment programs. Scientists from BOEM’s Environmental Studies Program – along with NOAA scientists – will discuss BOEM’s progress toward building a “first in class” environmental program, marine spatial planning considerations, and the bureau’s scientific information needs in the U.S. territories.
