On April 2 and 3, 2024, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine will host the 25th meeting of the Committee on Offshore Science and Assessment (COSA) to discuss BOEM’s marine minerals program. BOEM is the only federal agency with the authority to lease marine minerals from the Outer Continental Shelf. BOEM scientists will provide updates on data needs for developing informed environmental and spatial planning decisions, program intersections with coastal resilience, and Outer Continental Shelf critical minerals.
