You’re Invited: BOEM to Hold Virtual Public Meetings on Proposed Offshore Wind Lease Auction and Draft Environmental Assessment for Oregon

On April 30, 2024, the Department of Interior announced proposed auction details and lease terms for two areas offshore the Oregon coast for potential offshore wind energy leasing and the release of a draft Environmental Assessment on potential impacts associated with offshore wind energy leasing activities in designated Oregon Wind Energy Areas (WEAs). BOEM is currently seeking public comment on both documents and will hold virtual public meetings during the comment periods.  

Draft Environmental Analysis

During the 30-day public comment period (May 1, 2024 – May 31, 2024) on the Oregon WEAs draft Environmental Assessment (EA), BOEM will host a virtual meeting to outline the analysis document and findings, answer questions about the NEPA process, and collect public comments. Proposed Lease Sale

During the Proposed Sale Notice (PSN) 60-day public comment period (May 1 – July 1, 2024), BOEM will hold two virtual public meetings to describe the different elements of the PSN, answer questions, and collect comments.
