On March 20, 2024, the Department of the Interior announced its proposal for a second offshore wind energy auction in the Gulf of Mexico. The proposed lease sale includes four areas offshore Louisiana and Texas, totaling 410,060 acres, which together have the potential to power 1.2 million homes.
On March 21, 2024, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) published a Proposed Sale Notice (PSN) in the Federal Register, initiating a 60-day public comment period ending on May 20, 2024. To comment on the PSN, go to www.regulations.gov and search for docket number BOEM-2024-0017.

The seminar will describe the auction format, explain the auction rules, and demonstrate the auction process through meaningful examples. Because of recent changes to the auction system, all potential bidders are encouraged to attend, even if they have participated in previous auctions.
