BOEM hosted a workshop titled: “Offshore Wind Energy Development Site Assessment and Characterization: Evaluation of the Current Status and European Experience.” This workshop brought together European experts to discuss information needs for avian, benthic habitat, and archaeological resources. Additionally, BOEM used information from the workshop to revise our site characterization guidelines, such as the avian survey guidelines and benthic habitat survey guidelines.
