Welcome to the Gulf of Maine Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Virtual Meeting Room. Your participation is an essential part of BOEM’s environmental review process.
The following documents are available for your viewing:
- Notice of Availability of Central Atlantic Draft EA (BOEM-2024-0030)
- Draft EA and Appendices: Commercial Wind Lease Issuance and Site Assessment Activities on the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf of the Gulf of Maine (to be linked to Draft EA)
Publication of the Notice of Availability initiates a 30-day public comment period that ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on July 22, 2024. During the public comment period, BOEM will be hosting two virtual meetings to allow the public to learn more about the draft EA, ask questions, and provide oral testimony.
The virtual meetings will be held on the following dates. All times are Eastern:
- Monday, July 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

Comments can be submitted in any of the following ways:
- In written form by mail or any other delivery service, enclosed in an envelope labeled “Gulf of Maine Wind Leasing EA” and addressed to Chief, Office of Renewable Energy Programs, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, 45600 Woodland Road, Mailstop VAM-OREP, Sterling, VA 20166.
- Through the regulations.gov web portal: Navigate to http://www.regulations.gov and search for Docket No. BOEM-2024-0030. Click on the “Comment” button below the document link. Enter your information and comment, then click “Submit Comment.”
