Hawaiʻi Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force Meeting, August 22, 2024: Next Steps and Closing Remarks

Video

In August 2024 BOEM held a Hawaiʻi Intergovernmental Task Force Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Hawaiʻi Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force (“Task Force”), established in 2012, reflects a partnership between federal, state, and local agencies, as well as offices who regularly engage with members of the Native Hawaiian community. The Task Force serves as a renewable energy forum to discuss issues and concerns, including those identified by the Native Hawaiian community; exchange data and information about biological, cultural, and physical resources, ocean uses, and priorities; and facilitate early and continual dialogue and collaboration opportunities. At this meeting, BOEM shared information regarding its offshore wind leasing process well as its studies on this renewable resource.

This video clip is of BOEM Pacific Regional Director and HSEO Administrator reiterating next steps in planning process and offering closing remarks.
